53rd Potato Festival in Brallo di Pregola
Tradition, local products and the flavours of the Upper Staffora Valley
On Sunday, 13 September 2026, Brallo di Pregola celebrates the 53rd Potato Festival, a day dedicated to local potatoes, traditional products, regional cuisine and the traditions of the Pavia Apennines.
The municipality of Brallo di Pregola, in the Upper Staffora Valley, once again hosts one of the area's traditional agricultural celebrations with the 53rd Potato Festival, taking place on Sunday, 13 September 2026, in Piazza del Municipio, starting at 10 am.
The event is a long-standing opportunity to discover and promote local agricultural products and spend a day celebrating the flavours of the mountain area of the Oltrepò Pavese.
The Potato Festival in Brallo di PregolaThe undisputed star of the day will be the Brallo potato, featured at the producers' stands and in the festival's gastronomic offerings.
From 10 am, in Piazza del Municipio, visitors can meet local potato producers and discover a selection of traditional local products, in an event dedicated to the agricultural heritage and food traditions of the area.
The festival also provides an opportunity to learn more about one of the characteristic crops of the Apennine mountain area and the traditional knowledge associated with local farming.
Street food and traditional dishesOne of the highlights of the event will be the street food area under the marquee, organised by the Pro Loco and the Alpini of Brallo.
The menu will feature traditional dishes prepared with Brallo potatoes, together with other specialities celebrating the local cuisine.
The Potato Festival is therefore an opportunity to taste the flavours of the Upper Staffora Valley, in a convivial setting combining food, agricultural products and local traditions.
Live music and activities for childrenThe day will feature live music by the Zoom Party Band, entertaining visitors throughout the festival.
There will also be themed games for children, making the event an enjoyable occasion for families as well.
The importance of organic farming: the Agri Living LabIn the afternoon, at 3.30 pm in Piazza del Municipio, the programme includes an Agri Living Lab focusing on the importance of organic farming, led by Antonio Corbari.
The session will provide an opportunity to explore agriculture and sustainable production, as part of the programme of the 53rd Potato Festival.
A day discovering Brallo di PregolaThe Potato Festival is also an opportunity to explore Brallo di Pregola and the Upper Staffora Valley, an area of the Pavia Apennines characterised by mountain landscapes, small villages and traditions closely connected with agriculture and local food.
For visitors wishing to discover the area through its agricultural products, the festival is a particularly interesting event: the potato becomes a starting point for telling the story of the relationship between the local community, the mountain environment and agricultural production.
The 53rd Potato Festival in Brallo di Pregola is therefore an opportunity to enjoy a Sunday of traditional flavours, local products, live music and activities for the whole family.
