Accessible Tourism

The Province of Pavia is the lead authority of the “STAI 2 Project – Services for Accessible and Inclusive Tourism”, an initiative coordinated with the Lombardy Region, the Province of Sondrio, and a broad partnership of public bodies, universities, associations, and third-sector organizations.

In addition to tourists with disabilities, the project is aimed at anyone with similar needs, such as the elderly, people with health conditions, or families with young children, ensuring their right to participation and access to beauty. The main objective is to guarantee real and comprehensive accessibility to selected destinations, creating an offer that can sustain itself over time and become a replicable model for other areas of the Region.

This integrated project involves the collaboration of a strong partnership led by the Provinces of Pavia and Sondrio, together with the University of Pavia, the Chamber of Commerce, and Fondazione Triulza.

A key element is the direct involvement of the main associations in the sector, including ENS, LEDHA-CRABA, UICI Lombardia, ANFFAS Lombardia, and ANMIC Lombardia, ensuring that every action effectively responds to real accessibility needs,

integrating different areas ranging from mountain and spa tourism to cultural, food and wine, and sports tourism.
