On 15 and 16 August 2026, one of the most anticipated summer events in the Oltrepò Pavese returns: the August Festival in Castana. The charming Municipal Park will host two evenings dedicated to traditional cuisine, live music and dancing, offering residents and visitors a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the Ferragosto holiday surrounded by the beautiful hills of the Province of Pavia.

The festival is one of the area's most beloved summer traditions, bringing together hospitality, local food and entertainment while showcasing the rich culinary and cultural heritage of the picturesque village of Castana.

The festivities begin each evening at 7:30 pm, when the food and beverage area opens. Admission is by voluntary donation.

The highlight of the event is dancing on the park's permanent dance floor, accompanied by two renowned Italian dance orchestras.

On Saturday, 15 August, during the Ferragosto celebration, the Dario Ghelfi Orchestra will perform live while visitors enjoy the traditional Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli Evening, featuring one of the region's most popular homemade pasta specialties.

On Sunday, 16 August, the Giorgio Villani Orchestra will take the stage, accompanied by the Braised Beef Ravioli Evening, offering another classic dish inspired by the culinary traditions of Oltrepò Pavese.

The August Festival is the perfect opportunity to experience the authentic flavours of the region. Traditional ravioli, prepared according to local recipes, will be the stars of the menu, alongside a full food service and bar available throughout both evenings.
