Trekking to the Tibetan Bridge
Ready to walk on thin air? The new suspension bridge awaits in the Oltrepò Pavese
On Saturday 26 September 2026, the naturalist guides of Volo di Rondine - Nature in Oltrepò Pavese invite you to discover the brand-new Tibetan Bridge of Oltrepò Pavese and the woods of Guardamonte, between the municipalities of Cecima and Ponte Nizza. A chance to breathe fresh air, admire the first colours of autumn and feel a touch of adrenaline, in complete safety and suitable for everyone.
A Bridge Suspended Among the WoodsThe Guardamonte Tibetan Bridge is one of the most anticipated new additions among the trails of Oltrepò Pavese: a suspended walkway that crosses the valley just steps from the woods, giving walkers the sensation, for a few moments, of walking on thin air. The crossing is designed to be accessible and safe, guided step by step by the naturalist guides, so that the adrenaline stays a thrill rather than a risk.
Around the bridge lies a wooded landscape that by late September begins to take on its first autumn colours, among beech groves and clearings overlooking the valley: the perfect backdrop for a day outdoors, away from traffic and city life.
The RouteThe walk follows an easy loop of about 6 km, with an elevation gain of around 200 metres, suitable for everyone: families with children, occasional walkers and more experienced hikers alike. Four-legged friends are welcome too, as long as they are kept on a leash throughout the walk.
Two Time Slots to Choose FromTo ensure a pleasant and safe experience on the bridge, groups are limited in number: those wishing to take part can choose between two available time slots, a morning slot from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm and an afternoon slot from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Bookings are filling up quickly, so early reservation is recommended.
Where to Find UsThe starting point is Guardamonte, the wooded area between the municipalities of Cecima and Ponte Nizza, in the heart of the Pavese Apennines.
