Sunday 27 September 2026: a day celebrating the flavours of autumn in the Oltrepò Pavese!

Autumn arrives in Zavattarello, in the Oltrepò Pavese, with a day dedicated to local food, traditional cuisine and live music. On Sunday 27 September 2026, Piazza Dal Verme will host a festival celebrating the flavours of the season, with a special focus on mushrooms and honey.

The event is an opportunity to discover the authentic flavours of the Pavia area while exploring one of the historic villages of the Oltrepò Pavese and its cultural heritage.

The programme includes guided tours of the castle, a traditional autumn lunch and live music in Piazza Dal Verme.

Visit Castello Dal Verme

Throughout the day, visitors can join guided tours of Castello Dal Verme, one of Zavattarello's main landmarks.

The castle stands above the village and is one of the most important historic sites in the Oltrepò Pavese. A visit offers the chance to combine the festival with an introduction to the history and heritage of the area.

Traditional lunch with polenta and mushrooms

From 12:30 pm, visitors can enjoy a traditional autumn dish: polenta with mushrooms, tomato and gorgonzola cheese.

Simple and rooted in local culinary traditions, the dish is a perfect choice for a lunch break while exploring Zavattarello.

Live music

From 2:00 pm, the Nicola Nuovi Orizzonti Band will provide live music in Piazza Dal Verme, accompanying the afternoon festivities.

The festival is also an opportunity to explore Zavattarello, a hilltop village in the Pavia area surrounded by the landscapes of the Oltrepò Pavese.
