The Green Big Bench is located in the Casa Zanolo area at an elevation of 620 meters above sea level (GPS coordinates 44° 54' 35.9" N, 9° 16' 00.1" E).

This is the highest point of the Ruino district, from which a large portion of the territory of the municipality of Colli Verdi in Oltrepò Pavese can be seen.

The bench is located near provincial road 201, which connects Stradella to Zavattarello, close to Passo del Carmine.

Ruino was part of the medieval domains of the Abbey of San Colombano of Bobbio and was included in the territory of the upper Val Tidone, subject to the Bobbio episcopate.

Since 2019, the municipality of Ruino has merged with the municipality of Colli Verdi, along with Valverde and Canevino.

What is the Big Bench Community Project?

The Big Benches, created by Chris Bangle, now a symbol of Alta Langa, gave rise to the BIG BENCH COMMUNITY PROJECT (BBCP), designed to support local communities, tourism, and the artisan excellences of the towns where these oversized installations are located.
