Teachers and judges: three leading names in dance and televisionThe workshops are led, and the performances judged, by three professionals well known to the general public, whose careers span theatre, television and music productions.
Emanuel Lo
Born in Rome in 1979, Emanuel Lo is a dancer, choreographer and musician. The general public knows him as a dance teacher on the talent show “Amici di Maria De Filippi”, but his career began much earlier: he has choreographed numerous Rai and Mediaset television productions and has danced alongside international artists such as Ricky Martin.
Giulia Pauselli
Born in Florence in 1991, Giulia Pauselli graduated from the ballet school of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. After taking part in “Amici” as a student, she joined the programme’s cast of professional dancers and choreographers in 2017, and her television work also includes “Ciao Darwin”, “Tale e Quale Show” and the Sanremo Music Festival.
Simone Nolasco
Born in Rome in 1993, Simone Nolasco began studying dance at a very young age and received a solid classical training, partly abroad. He is one of the most admired professional dancers on “Amici”, where he has stood out for his technical elegance and stage presence, and he has also appeared in music videos and television shows.
The organisers: Centro Sperimentale d’ArteCentro Sperimentale d’Arte A.S.D. is both an association and a training and production centre for dance, theatre and singing, based in Vigevano. Founded in 1990 by Marzia Guardamagna, artistic director, choreographer and stage director, it regularly puts on its own shows at the Teatro Cagnoni, which it has known well since 2007, when it co-produced “Ciak si danza”, the show that opened the theatre’s season. For the 2027 competition the artistic direction is entrusted to Micol Trotta Guardamagna, with the collaboration of Marcella Previde Massara and Paola Zatti.
The Civico Teatro Cagnoni, the stage of VigevanoThe Teatro Cagnoni is Vigevano’s main theatre. Opened in 1873 and named after the composer Antonio Cagnoni (1828–1896), it was restored in the 1990s and reopened to the public in 1994; more recent works have renewed the auditorium and the boxes, restoring the theatre’s nineteenth-century elegance. It stands on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, a short walk from Piazza Ducale, and is a fitting venue for a dance event that brings together the audience of the competition and lovers of live performance.
Useful information for taking part and getting to the theatreFor information and bookings, call +39 347 989 2359, the number given on the official poster. Those arriving by car can park in the areas closest to the theatre, in Piazza Sant’Ambrogio and Via Guido da Vigevano. It is a good idea to arrive early, especially on Sunday, and to check the final times of the workshops and the competition with the organisers.
Vigevano beyond danceA weekend in Vigevano is also a chance to discover one of the most interesting Renaissance towns in Lombardy. Piazza Ducale, commissioned by Ludovico il Moro at the end of the fifteenth century and linked to the names of Bramante and Leonardo da Vinci, is considered one of the most beautiful squares in Italy and serves as the antechamber to the Sforza Castle, one of the largest fortified structures in Europe. Between one performance and the next, families and companions can enjoy a stroll under the arcades of the square, a visit to the castle or a stop in the cafés and restaurants of the historic centre.
