Experience the authentic flavors of the Oltrepò Pavese at La Paciada dei Malfatti, the traditional food festival taking place in Fortunago on Friday, 14 August 2026. Organized by the local Pro Loco, this much-loved annual event celebrates the eve of Ferragosto with great food, live music, and the warm hospitality of one of Italy's most beautiful villages.

The dialect word "Paciada" can be translated as "feast" or "hearty banquet." Over the years, this traditional pre-Ferragosto dinner has become one of Fortunago's signature summer events, offering visitors the chance to discover the finest local specialties and experience the village's convivial atmosphere.

The stars of the evening are the famous Malfatti, small handmade dumplings prepared with breadcrumbs and wild herbs according to Fortunago's traditional recipe. They are freshly made in the village square by the women of Fortunago and served with either rich meat ragù or butter and sage.

Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary aperitif offered by the Pro Loco, followed by a high-quality menu featuring:

• A selection of local cured meats and cheeses
• Traditional Malfatti dumplings
• Fresh seasonal fruit
• Homemade village cakes

The complete menu costs €22 and includes one small bottle of water or one glass of local DOC wine.

After dinner, the celebration continues with live music by Antonio Carta and Santi Isgrò, cocktails, and a festive atmosphere as everyone waits to welcome Ferragosto.
