During the winter season, Castello Dal Verme in Zavattarello continues to welcome visitors, offering a unique opportunity to explore one of the most fascinating castles in the Oltrepò Pavese area in a particularly evocative atmosphere.
The castle is open every Sunday, with visiting hours from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visits are available exclusively through guided tours, designed to lead visitors through the history, architecture, and key figures connected to the Castello Dal Verme. In the winter months, Zavattarello and its castle offer striking views and a distinctive charm: the austere outline of the medieval walls, the surrounding hilly landscape often wrapped in mist or illuminated by the clear winter light, and the quiet that characterizes this time of year all contribute to a deeply engaging visit. It is an ideal experience for those wishing to discover the historical heritage of the Oltrepò Pavese away from the busiest tourist periods.
Please note that in the event of snow or ice, Castello Dal Verme may remain closed for safety reasons if the access road is not passable. Visitors are therefore advised to check opening conditions before planning their visit.
Castello Dal Verme is an unmissable stop for anyone visiting Zavattarello, listed among Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages, and represents a key cultural and tourist landmark of the upper Oltrepò Pavese even during the winter season.
