On Saturday, September 12 2026, Pieve del Cairo turns into an open-air dance floor for one night with “Serata Sotto le Stelle – 80 Voglia di Divertirmi” (“Night Under the Stars – Longing to Have Fun”), the event organized by the Municipality, the Pro Loco and the local shopkeepers of this Lomellina town to celebrate the most colorful and unforgettable atmospheres of the 1980s. Between music, great food and a very special guest, the town's main square is getting ready to welcome a large crowd, all in the name of nostalgia and fun.

The event kicks off at 7:00 PM, when the food area opens: from street food to gourmet dishes, the culinary offer curated by local shopkeepers will accompany the audience throughout the evening, with something to suit every taste before the music takes over.

From the early evening, the soundtrack will be in the hands of DJ Marco Lombardi, Luciano Tirelli and Luca Cremasco, who will take the crowd on a journey back in time with music and energy straight from the dancefloors of the disco era.

The highlight of the night is set for 10:30 PM, with the arrival of the evening's special guest, ready to set the square alight with his timeless hits.

Lighting up “Serata Sotto le Stelle” will be Johnson Righeira, one of the most recognizable and beloved voices of Italian disco music from the 1980s, still able today to get several generations singing and dancing. On stage in Pieve del Cairo, the artist will perform his best-known songs – and, as the event poster puts it, his “ever-current” ones – starting with “L’estate sta finendo” and “No Tengo Dinero”, tracks that have become part of Italian pop music history and a symbol of an era that still makes the hearts of fans and nostalgics beat faster.

To make the evening even more fun and colorful, organizers invite guests to show up in '80s-themed outfits: so-called “paninari” and “squinzie” – the iconic preppy boys and girls of Italian '80s youth style – are expected in numbers in Pieve del Cairo, for a journey back in style as much as in music.

Admission to the event is free. Guests are nonetheless encouraged to leave a 1-euro contribution, donated to the Pro Loco to help cover table service, the setup of the square and a small themed gift handed out to participants.

With live music, quality food and a special guest such as Johnson Righeira, “Serata Sotto le Stelle” is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated September events in the Lomellina area, a perfect chance to enjoy a night of pure '80s revival just a short drive from Pavia.
