On the occasion of the 25th Homemade Bread and Chestnut Fair in Brallo di Pregola, join us for a unique experience that combines nature, history, and tradition: the walk “In the Presence of Giants”, organized by FAI Giovani Oltrepò Pavese.

Amid the beech woods of the Pavia Apennines rise the centuries-old chestnut trees of Brallo, true living monuments. Their twisted shapes, sculpted by time, resemble ancient statues that have watched over the passing of seasons and generations for more than 700 years. These extraordinary trees preserve the memory of a land where people and nature have long coexisted in harmony.

The walk will be led by Edoardo Gualdana, agronomist, who will share stories and insights about the significance of these majestic trees — powerful symbols of the environmental and cultural identity of the Oltrepò Pavese.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., in Bralello hamlet, Brallo di Pregola (PV). The trail, about 1.5 km round trip with 60 meters of elevation gain, winds through an enchanting forest path suitable for everyone.

And since it’s chestnut season, don’t forget to bring a basket — we’ll gather chestnuts together, surrounded by the scents and colors of autumn.

Participation is open to everyone, with a free donation.
