The FAI Giovani Pavia Group invites visitors to enjoy a unique experience discovering the beauty of the River Ticino and the tradition of its typical local boats. The event “FAI un giro in barcè” returns to Pavia, organised in collaboration with the Club dei Vogatori di Pavia.

A journey along the river through history and nature

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to board the characteristic barcè, traditional boats that have been used on the River Ticino for centuries, and enjoy a journey combining history, culture and nature.

FAI volunteers will accompany participants on a journey celebrating Pavia’s river heritage, sharing stories and pointing out picturesque views along the way.

Dates, times and meeting point

“FAI un giro in barcè” will take place on Saturday, 12 September 2026. In case of rain, the event will be postponed to Sunday, 13 September.

There will be two departures, at 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm, with a maximum of 16 participants per group.

The meeting point is at the Club dei Vogatori, Via Trinchera 1, Pavia.

How to take part and costs

Participation is available by reservation only through the FAIprenotazioni portal.

The contribution is €10 for FAI members and €13 for non-members.

It will also be possible to join FAI directly on site, with a €15 welcome membership fee for young people aged 18 to 35, with the option to renew at the same rate.

Useful information

• The event is open to participants aged 10 and over.

• Children must also be registered in advance, as places are limited.

• The barcè accommodate small groups to ensure safety and provide an authentic experience on the river.
