The 22nd National Urban Trekking Day
On the steps of the Jubilee in Pavia
The 22nd National Urban Trekking Day will take place on Friday, October 31, 2025, focusing on “The Jubilee Routes: Between History, Culture, and Spirituality.”
Eighty-four participating cities will invite visitors to experience a form of slow and sustainable tourism, rediscovering Italy’s heritage through walking.
In Pavia, the Holy Doors of the city’s three Jubilee churches will guide our 2025 Urban Trekking route.
From the Church of San Pietro in Ciel d’Oro, where the stories of St. Augustine, Boethius, and King Liutprand come alive, the itinerary continues to the Cathedral, whose great dome has watched centuries of pilgrims and the evolution of a city once at the heart of European history. The journey concludes with a visit to the Chapel of the Resurrection at the Casa del Giovane, a contemporary example of art and hospitality just a short walk from the Ticino Park.
Along the route through the historic center, participants will explore both well-known landmarks and hidden corners, with particular attention to the theme of pilgrimage. A stretch along the Ticino River recalls the footsteps of travelers, past and present, who have crossed its banks over the centuries.
