Maria Maddalena Rossi, born in the Municipality of Codevilla on September 29, 1906, passed away in Milan on September 17, 1995. Upon her death, she left her collection of contemporary paintings, which she had gathered and cherished, to the municipality of Oltrepò.

The Maria Maddalena Rossi Collection consists of a substantial series of paintings by Guttuso, Carrol, Mafai, Gentilini, Sassu, and others, as well as some sculptures and several ancient books. It is currently housed in the town hall of Codevilla (PV).
