Cilavegna Chiodini Mushroom Festival 2026
Enjoy traditional dishes featuring the prized honey fungus in Cilavegna
Cilavegna is getting ready for a weekend dedicated to the chiodini mushroom, a popular ingredient prized for its versatility in the kitchen. One of the most widely consumed mushrooms in the world, it is sometimes nicknamed the “asparagus of the mushroom world” because, much like asparagus, its tender upper portion is particularly valued.
The traditional autumn festival will take place at Palazzo Aurora, 10 Via Cavour, Cilavegna, organised by the Oratorio Divina Provvidenza of Cilavegna in collaboration with the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul and the Pro Loco of Cilavegna, under the patronage of the Municipality.
The kitchens will be open for dinner on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October, from 7:30 pm, with musical entertainment. On Sunday 18 October, the festival will be open for lunch only, starting at 12:30 pm.
Now in its 17th edition, the Chiodini Mushroom Festival offers a varied menu to suit different tastes. Specialities featuring chiodini mushrooms include pasta, ravioli, risotto, polenta and braised meat. The menu also includes local cured meats, grilled sausages, salami preserved in fat, Gorgonzola cheese, French fries and a selection of desserts.
