On the trail of the battle of Pavia - free guided tours and events
Guided tours led by certified tourist guides of the Pavia province
The year 2025 is a significant one for the city, as it marks the 500th anniversary of the “Battle of Pavia.”
The city will host a rich program of celebratory events, designed not only to commemorate the historic battle but also to enhance Pavia’s cultural and artistic heritage.
Among the initiatives, the Municipality of Pavia is offering a series of guided tours to lead residents and tourists in discovering the city’s iconic landmarks.
The tours will take place on the first and last Saturday of each month, on national and local holidays, and on additional selected dates throughout the year.
The route will begin at the Washerwoman’s Statue in Borgo Ticino and wind through some of the city’s most picturesque corners. It will proceed across the bridge for a walk along the Ticino Visconti, with a stop at the Church of San Teodoro, passing through Piazza Duomo to Piazza Vittoria, where a brief pause is planned at the Pavia Infopoint.
The itinerary will conclude with access to the historic University of Pavia headquarters and end in front of the Visconteo Castle.
The tour will last approximately two hours, with a meeting time at 2:55 PM, except during the summer months (June, July, and August), when it will be postponed to 3:55 PM.
All events and guided tours will be free of charge and will proceed with a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 35 registrants per activity.
The guided tours are provided by the Tourism Department of the Municipality of Pavia.
In collaboration with Pavia Turismo.
