CorriPavia Half Marathon 2026
Pavia takes to the streets on Sunday, October 11
On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the CorriPavia Half Marathon returns for its 22nd edition, bringing thousands of participants to Pavia for a day dedicated to running, sport and discovering the city.
The event includes the competitive half marathon, a 10 km non-competitive race, the Mini CorriPavia Family Run and the 14th Mini CorriPavia School Trophy, involving runners, families, children and students.
But CorriPavia is also an original way to explore Pavia, with the race route taking participants past some of the city's best-known landmarks, along the Ticino River and the historic Naviglio Pavese.
A half marathon in the heart of PaviaThe CorriPavia Half Marathon and the 10 km race will start at 9:30 am from Viale XI Febbraio, near the Visconti Castle. The Mini CorriPavia Family Run will start at 9:15 am from Piazza Castello.
The half marathon route is officially certified by FIDAL, the Italian Athletics Federation, and runs through the city, combining the historic centre, the Ticino River, the Naviglio Pavese and green areas.
The first section takes runners towards the Covered Bridge, one of Pavia's most recognisable landmarks, before crossing into Borgo Ticino and continuing along the river. The route then passes near the Horti of Borromeo College before reaching the Naviglio Pavese, another distinctive feature of Pavia's urban landscape.
Along the course, runners encounter numerous historic buildings and landmarks, including the Torre di San Dalmazio, the Domus Magna degli Eustachi, Palazzo Bottigella, Piazza della Vittoria, the Broletto and other monuments that tell the story of Pavia from Roman times through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
From the historic centre to the Naviglio PaveseOne of the most interesting sections of the CorriPavia route follows the Naviglio Pavese.
The canal is part of Lombardy's historic network of waterways and offers a different perspective on the city. The route then heads back towards the centre, passing near the Minerva, the Basilica of San Michele and Piazza della Vittoria.
The race thus becomes a journey through the history of Pavia: ancient Ticinum, the Lombard and medieval city, the Visconti era and the urban landscape that developed over the centuries along the Ticino River and the Naviglio.
The fast section along the AlzaiaAfter the halfway point, the route reaches Borgo Calvenzano and continues along the Alzaia del Naviglio Pavese.
This is one of the most linear sections of the half marathon, allowing runners to maintain a steady pace. The route passes near the church of San Giuseppe, the stadium and areas that reflect Pavia's industrial heritage.
As the final kilometres approach, the race gradually returns towards the historic centre, passing through Porta Milano, the Bastione di Santo Stefano and the area around Palazzo Botta Adorno, now home to KOSMOS, the Natural History Museum of the University of Pavia.
The final kilometres lead runners back into the heart of the city, passing near the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine and the Garibaldi monument before reaching the finish line on Viale XI Febbraio.
More than a half marathon: 10 km, Family Run and School TrophyCorriPavia offers different ways to take part.
The 10 km non-competitive race is designed for anyone who wants to experience the city on the run without taking part in an official competitive event. The Mini CorriPavia Family Run, covering 3 km, is open to families and participants of all ages.
The event also includes the 14th Mini CorriPavia School Trophy, also over 3 km, involving students and school staff.
This format means that you do not have to be an experienced runner to enjoy CorriPavia: it is a day outdoors in the centre of Pavia, combining sport, social activities and discovering the local area.
Sport, wellbeing and environmental awarenessThe event combines its sporting dimension with a strong focus on health and wellbeing, involving various healthcare and health-related organisations.
Environmental sustainability is also part of the CorriPavia project. The organisers have introduced measures to reduce the use of plastic, provide drinking water from the public water supply and promote separate waste collection along the route. For the 2026 edition, the medals will also be made from recycled wood, while packaging materials have been reduced.
