fabbricapoggi
Fabbricapoggi is the result of the restoration project of an industrial facility to create a center for design, architecture, and art.
In Pavia, fifteen years after the conclusion of furniture production by the Poggi company, the renovated spaces now host events in the fields of design and art, such as workshops, conferences, exhibitions, product presentations, photo shoots, and educational activities.
Roberto Poggi (1924-2020), a cabinetmaker and entrepreneur from Pavia, is considered one of the founding fathers of modern furniture industry. For over sixty years, together with his workers, Poggi created numerous pieces of furniture now considered icons of industrial design and are part of prestigious international museum collections.
His works were repeatedly showcased at the Milan Triennale, and in 1955, his "Luisa" armchair was awarded the prestigious Compasso d'Oro and is on display at the MoMA in New York.
