Lomellina, quanti sapori

La prima Guida rossa Lombardia del 1914 del Touring Club Italiano consigliava una visita in Lomellina in primavera o in autunno, evitando sia la pesantezza del sole estivo in piena pianura che la numerosa presenza di insetti molesti.

Se il consiglio può essere tenuto buono anche oggi, crediamo che sia soprattutto a causa della ricchezza gastronomica che il territorio lomellino offre grazie ai prodotti della sua terra che trovano piena maturazione nei mesi più caldi dell’anno.

Certo nell’immaginario collettivo la nomea di terra d’acque e di riso rimane decisamente prevalente, ma veramente molteplici sono le tipicità di cui occorre tenere conto.
La Cipolla Rossa di Breme, l’asparago di Cilavegna, il Salame d’Oca di Mortara, il fagiolo Borlotto di Gambolò, la zucca Bertagnina di Dorno: ecco alcuni esempi di quale varietà possa offrire questo territori.

Certo i pellegrini che percorrevano la Via Francigena  sin dalle epoche più remote, in questa tratta del percorso, potevano trovare il giusto ristoro tra una tappa e la successiva.
